PCSD slaps suit against Ivy Michelle construction
The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) slapped suit
against Ivy Trading and Construction firm owned by Josephine Mangahas
of Narra, Palawan for violation of RA 9742 or the Philippine Mining
Act of 1995.
The PCSD report said this stemmed from following the series of violations
committed by Mangahas of the conditions stipulated in the Environmental
Compliance Certificate issued to her.
PCSDS investigations conducted at the quarry site in Katubungan River,
Bgy. Teresa, Narra showed that massive and incessant quarrying operations
in the area have caused severe destruction in the river. Mangahas likewise
snubbed and kept deaf on the invitations sent out by PCSDS for her to
explain. This prompted PCSD to file the case. (PCSD)
