Task Force on Real Property Tax Collection formed
By virtue of Executive Order (E.O.) No. 29 issued by Governor Joel
T. Reyes a Provincial Task Force on Real Property Tax Collection was
formed to effectively implement the Provincial Ordinance No. 595, series
of 2001 that provides tax relief and amnesty to real property owners
in the province of Palawan. The tax amnesty that will last until December
2002 began and took effect this January.
The E.O. No. 29 aims to strengthen the real property tax collection
in the province and explained the value and importance of paying taxes.
It is also designed to promote a massive campaign on paying taxes and
provides incentives to punctual payers.
The Provincial Treasurer was designated chairman of the task force with
the Provincial Assessor as co-chairman. They also tapped all municipal
mayors, municipal treasurers and municipal assessors including the Chairman
of the Committee on Ways and Means of the Sangguniang Bayan, Public
elementary school principals, barangay chairman and the Provincial Information
Officer as task force members.
